Dr. Heuter attended Boston University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He then graduated from The Ohio State University where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and was acknowledged with the Dr. J. Salisbury Foundation Veterinary Medical Scholarship and Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society awards. He completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. Following his internship, Dr. Heuter completed a two-year residency in small animal internal medicine at The Animal Medical Center.
He is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Heuter served as staff veterinarian at The Animal Medical Center and has special training in dialysis. He is proficient in gastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, cystoscopy, ultrasound, and many other procedures. Special research and clinical interest areas include nephrology, urology, endoscopy and education. Dr. Heuter has published many scientific articles and has lectured extensively on a variety of internal medicine topics.
